''It's famous for tigers. You also get to see wolves, chital, sloth bears, chinkara, sambar.''

Time Taken to Reach : About 10 hours.

How to Reach : By Road: Take the NH2 to Agra, NH3 to Gwalior, NH75 to Panna via Jhansi, Bamitha and Madla.
By Rail: Nearest railway station is Khajuraho, which is just 25 km away from Panna Park and a direct train (UP sampark kranti) from Nizamuddin runs on daily basis.
By Air: Khajuraho is the nearest airport as well. Pl note, air travel from Delhi takes just 3 hrs.

Why Go the Distance : Situated in north Madhya Pradesh, Panna National Park is famous for tigers. If you enjoy wildlife, this is the place to be in. You also get to see wolves, chital, sloth bears, chinkara, sambar.
What's more, there are over 200 species of birds in the national park. If you are lucky, you could see the white necked stork, bareheaded goose, honey buzzard, King vulture, to name a few.

Ideal Time to Visit : January to May

Park Timings : 6:30am - 10:30am & 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Travel Tips : PLease note, authorities don’t offer jeep safaris here. So, you have to rent your own jeep for a safari. However, our recommendation is you try the elephant safari instead for a more bone chilling experience.
The Ken River lodge offers night safaris, you could perhaps try them.
Park charges: Entry Fee is Rs 40 for desi tourists. It is Rs 500 for foreigners. Jeep rental: Rs 1500/half day, boat ride: Rs 150 (desi tourists) & Rs 150 ( for foreigners), Elephant safari: Rs 100 (desi tourists) & Rs 600 ( for foreigners), Night Safari : Rs 1800/jeep (including entry fees).
If you can stand the heat in the summers, we suggest you plan a trip then as the chances are much more to spot TIGERS!

Other Pit Stops : Since Khajurao is so close, you must take some time out to visit the most famed erotic sculptures in the country.
Also, when in Panna, you could visit the Rajgarh Palace, which is truly a magnificent piece of architecture overlooking the valley.
