NAUKUCHIATAL IN NAINITAL

''Untouched so far, the place is apt to rejuvenate and refresh mind and soul''

About the place : You usually go to the most famous and sought after destinations for your vacations. But something that is overdone may not hold the same lustre as its past glory. So, when you plan to visit Nainital, a much commercialised tourist spot now, also plan a short trip to the not-so-far Naukluchiatal Lake and you may never want to come back. The literal meaning of the lake is a nine-cornered Lake and the lake stands by its literal sense. With approximately 1 km of length and 40 mts of depth, this lake stands 1,220 mts above the sea level. According to myths and some stories, if one takes a glimpse of all the nine corners at once with foots on earth, one can disappear in a cloud of smoke to attain nirvana, which means that it is impossible to look at all nine corners of the lake at once with your foots on the ground.

The ambience is so fresh and the lake so pristine that it works as a therapy for several people. The Lake has nine corners, and one of the biggest lakes set in mid of hills. On this trip slip into the wings, touch the clouds, fly like a bird, and glide over the lake.
