The place is full of trendy cafes and eateries but at the same time has managed to keep its culture and values intact.

THINGS TO DO : Here's what you can explore in Bali:

Sanur : • Must visit are postcard-perfect beaches of Sanur in the Denpasar city of southeast Bali. This beach side town has a laidback attitude and is frequently visited by foreigners, especially Europeans, to recharge and rejuvenate.
• If planning a holiday in July, make it around the International Kite Festival. Biking along the Sanur beaches is also very popular among tourists.
•If staying at Sanur, sunrises and sunsets are a must.

Seminyak : • Enjoy fashionable restaurants and bars, luxury stay, boutique shopping and spa in Seminyak, a town in South Bali.
• The place offers some of the best beaches and one can also go scuba-diving and snorkelling here.
• Kuta is one of the main beaches and one can just walk miles along the beach. Also, enjoy cafes by the beach.
• Good eateries/restaurants one can try here are Petitenget, Biku, Buzz Café and Rolling Fork.

And More.. : • Tanah Lot is a peculiar rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali and also home to the pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot. Visit the places when tides are low so that you can walk to the island temple. Beautiful location for photography and to view sunset.
• Visit Pura Luhur Uluwatu sea temple in Bali, which was built in the 11th century. Worth a visit for the awesome cliff views it offers and gushing waves add to the ambience.
• Pat the tiger cub, feed the elephants or just enjoy the rides at Bali Safari Marine Park.
• Want more adventure? Trek up Mount Batur, an active volcano. Taking a guide along on this route always helps. It may be cold on top, so carry jacket along. Not an easy trek and may take one full day going and coming but, worth going for the experience and views.
• Go Ubud Monkey Forest to see and experience nature, small waterfalls and exotic beauty of Bali.
•If going with children, do Waterbom Bali.
•Legian is a beachfront town in South Bali, famous for ocean surfing. Take back home Balinese handicrafts and even souvenirs from here.
•Keen to explore the history and know the place better visit any of these - Bali Museum, Bali Shell Museum, Agung Rai Museum of Art, Puri Lukisan Museum, Neka Art Museum and Museum Pasifika.
•Go around the city in a car or a scooter that are easily available on hire.

FOOD/DRINK : Balinese cuisine has influences from other Indonesian regional cuisine.

• The staple food is rice, accompanied by vegetables, a small amount of fish or meat, and a range of condiments.
• Lawar: Is mixed vegetable with chopped coconut, garlic, chilli and pork/chicken meat and blood
• Nasi Goring: Indonesian fried rice with a fried egg on top
• Jajan Bantal: A snack made of are sticky rice, peas and fruits.
• Satay: Can be found anywhere in Bali. Is made of thin slices of meat of sea fish or turtle, green coconut, spices, and brown sugar and served with a spicy peanut sauce.
• Bebek Betutu: Duck stuffed with spices, wrapped in banana leaves and cooked with many different herbs and spices.
• Nasi Campur (steamed rice with some vegetables and meat).
• Ayam Betutu: Roasted chicken stuffed with spices in Banana leaf.
• Babi Guling: Made of a whole suckling pig, stuffed with spice paste and vegetables.
• Bubuh Injin: This is a desert made from natural black glutinous rice, served hot, in a sweet sauce of palm sugar and thick coconut cream.
• Balinese coffee, Kopi Bali, and hot tea, teh panas are popular.
• Balinese also enjoy their home brewed alcoholic drinks Arak, Tuak, and Brem.

BEST TIME : One can visit the place year round but the months of May, June and July are generally considered to be the best time to travel to Bali. Surfing can be experienced at its best in these months.
