''The scintillating landscape of Jim Corbett filled with lush greenery is sure a treat to the eyes.''

Corbett, spread across 1,250 square km, is located along the two districts of Uttrakhand -- Garhwal and Kumaon. There are quite few safari zones that you could enter the national park from: Bijrani, Dhikala, Jhirna, Domunda and Sonanadi.

Best time to visit the tiger reserve : You can plan a trip to Corbett anytime of the year. Jhrina zone remains open throughout the year. But the core area of the national park -- Dhikala zone – is open between November 15 and June 15. If you want to enter the tiger reserve through this zone, you have to plan a trip within these eight months. Bijrani zone, too, opens in the middle of October.
During the monsoon period, these zones remain closed as the roads get washed away.

How to reach your destination : You have a plethora of options. If you are a train lover, you could take the Ranikhet Express from New Delhi to reach Kathgodam.
Corbett Link Express goes from Old Delhi to Ramnagar. You could also avail Kathgodam Express, which leaves from Old Delhi and goes to Kathgodam. If you are adventurous enough, you could drive down for Corbett is just is just 300 km away from the capital.
You could take your car inside the national park too. If you want to go on road, you also could take a cab. Jim Corbett National Park doesn’t have an airport. The nearest airport is Phoolbagh in Pantnagar. If you are going from Delhi, it is best to plan a trip on road or take a train. However, if you decide to go by air, then you have to first go to Pantnagar from where you can take a cab to Corbett.

Travel Tips : Carry comfortable clothes. Jeans and Ts are the best option. Women could also dress in salwaar kameez. Sarees should be avoided as they may be uncomfortable during the safaris. If you decide to drive down inside the park, go slow so that you can stop if you spot anything.
Also, in this way, you can ensure that you are not harming animals inside the park. Corbett is a must do during a weekend, its scenic beauty is also worth the travel. Always be careful and be seated in your vehicle during your visit inside the national park.
Make sure you do not attempt to get down in the middle of safari. Also, if you are taking your own car inside the jungle, avoid listening to music. Always remember it’s a wildlife sanctuary and not a ZOO.
